Before Motherhood there was…

Carolyn Barnes, a New York blooded, Mother of two, grew up on stage. Her first performance was at age of three,where she directed,wrote, produced and starred in her very own musical, ” Water splashes and is wet.”(at the”Bathtub”,Queens, N.Y.)“…(True)

However, it was age 8, where her passion for performing really ignited as she danced her way through several years and over 300 hundred performances of the “Nutcracker  Suite,” Ballet, (with such  companies as the Los Angles Ballet Company, at the Dorathy Chandlier Pavillion.)

Carolyn’s summers were spent Dancing at Carnegie Hall, in New York,(where she trainedGavin Mcleoud in dance,) as well as at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she branched out into singing and Acting.

After graduating from college at UCSB (with Honors ), she began her theater career, landing roles in Top productions of: The Twentieth Anniversary World and National Tours of A Chorus Line; co-starred in various LA-based companies with Sandy Duncan, Michael Nouri, Gavin McCloud, Nannette Fabrey, and Kay Ballard, among others. She also headlined in the production ,”Sylvia,” as Sylvia in Los Angeles as well as the prestigious Laguna Playhouse, where she won several Theater Critic awards for Best Actress.

Spain w  AlexCarolyn then spent the following three years commuting to Spain to work with TV and  film directors,  Peter Bonerz,Spain set w Peter Jim Drake, and Rod Daniel.

But its her infamous role to date that makes her most proud, “Mommy”, (to Sophie and Jack Barnes.) While reining in her little walking germ breeders, whom she loves and adores, (most of the time…) she has appeared or recurred on TV shows such as,General Hospital, Strong Medicine, Port Charles,Chuck, Life with Roger.”

As well as starred in numerous television commercials/campaigns, for, Lexus, Ocean Spray , American Express,  Kentucky fried chicken, Spec savors ,The Yellow Pages, to name a few…
